Preschool Programs
Open Gym!
Let’s Meet and Greet! Come join parents and children of other YMCA families while having free play. We will provide the equipment, you will provide the fun! This program is meant for you and your child to spend quality time together while socializing with other families! Come and go as you please during the one hour time slot! Parents, we ask that you do not drop your child off as this is not a course taught by an instructor. We’ll see you there!
Mini Movement
Your child (ages 3-6) will experience the love of movement with songs, dancing, and games revolving around a different theme each class. Themes will include ideas such as animals, family and community, earth and space, and emotions/acting.
Tiny Movement
Your 2 year old child can also experience the love of dance and music in a creative movement class designed just for their age. This class without parents or caregivers will allow your child to enjoy playing and interacting with other children.
Rompers
Children will learn about sharing, taking turns and team work in a structured and safe environment. Parents and children will enjoy a wide variety of games, songs and physical activities. This is a class for your child to develop and enhance physical and social skills in a fun, playful environment. Share a special time interacting with your child as well as other children and parents.
Swim and Gym or (Just) Jumpers
Your child will spend 30 minutes of swim instruction in the small pool then 30 minutes exercising in the small gym. The swim portion includes, but not limited to, basic stroke and floating instruction with no more than 1-7 teacher-child ratio. Activities during the gym portion of class are geared toward the development of balance, jumping, beginning ball skills and overall fitness. Parents are not required to be present during either class time; however they are responsible for the transfer of their children between the pool and gym.
Children’s Ballet & Jazz Dance
A class for children 4-7 years old who have had little or no dance experience. Children will learn basic ballet and jazz dance movements in a fun and creative class environment. Students may wear comfortable clothing or dance clothes. Ballet slippers are recommended.
